FEAR?

WISDOM FOR GOD'S WORD!!!

Psalm 34:4 "I sought the Lord, and He answered me, And delivered me from all my fears."

Fear....what fear do you face today? How is that going for you?

David gives us very clear direction. Actually God gives you very clear direction when you come to His word prayerfully and with a heart that desires to hear.

1. "I sought the Lord" 

So many people want the blessing and favor of God but I wonder do they really? So many ask for a friend or a pastor to pray for them but kind of skirt this seeking the Lord business I am afraid. Too many say they are seeking the Lord but what they actually mean is that they are consulting with or towards the Lord and hoping that He will either answer according to their plan or perhaps release them from obligation to His ways.

- David said, "I sought the Lord" and.....

2. "He answered me"

Have you ever experienced that the Lord has answered you when you sought Him. Now you may whisper Lord to Him and thought that you were seeking Him. But have you ever really wrestled with seeking God? I mean really putting all the clutter of this world down (Facebook addictions, TV addictions, social addictions, and everything else that so easily encumbers aside) to really seek God! And yes, I said FACEBOOK ADDICTION! Think about it! I see people today that cannot take 2 steps without their smart phone actively engaged to read the latest on what so and so said or post something or pass some "news." Ha, perhaps the smart phone is the addiction. But you know what would it be like to have that kind of energy to use a smart phone to be reading God's word with the intent of hearing God speak and to get God's perspective on life rather than the world's view and the world's fascination and even the world's frustration?

- What could be hindering you from hearing God? Will you seek Him? Do you expect to hear from Him if you seek Him? Are you more engaged to desperately hear from a mere human or are you desirous to hear from the King of Glory? Which would be better? Why?

- David said, "I sought the Lord, and He answered Me" and....

3. "And delivered me from all my fears."

What fear are you facing today? Perhaps the Lord has been speaking to you to engage you to do something and you are afraid. Can you trust God? Will you trust Him? Are you seeking Him with attentive ears?

I challenge you today to put aside all the junk of life and this world that so easily entangles and put that time to seeking God, listening for God to answer, and experiencing the strong arm of God in your life.

Will you seek the Lord today? Or will it be just another day in man's paradise of doing the same old stuff day in and day out finding that you truly cannot keep up with the demands and desires of this world?

Victory or loss? Which will be yours?
