WISDOM FOR GOD'S WORD!!!
Psalm 34:4 "I sought the Lord, and He answered me, And delivered me from all my fears."
Fear....what fear do you face today? How is that going for you?
David gives us very clear direction. Actually God gives you very clear direction…

What another Spirit enabled and powerful day of worship! Yesterday was truly a great day of experiencing the presence and power of the Lord as we met to worship Him in His glory! Everything from walking onto the property, to being met at the door, to shaking hands, to praying, to participating in Sunday School, to singing, to laughing, to weeping, and to hearing the Word of God helped us all to experience the presence of God! What a special time and place to serve our Awesome Lord! I cannot…

Dear Crossbridge Family,
I hope you all are continuing to read daily from the "life transforming" word of God! It is so thrilling to see the unfolding promise of God to reveal to us His perspective and plans for all things that would bring us to His redemption through Jesus Christ. His word is amazing!
Certainly we can find that the truth of Hebrews 4:12 is ringing loud and true, 12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged…

Not So Deep Thoughts 1-18-12
Genesis 43, 44 and 45
Well I am back. Had a great time at the Scott Dawson Strength to Stand Conference the weekend.
As I read I read today’s chapters I am struck by the image of a whiny, spoiled-rotten brat of a kid named Joseph. He was a definite, “Hey! Look at me!” kind of kid. It just goes to show that the “all about me” movement started a long time ago. Here he has the fancy coat and is the favorite. Bet he…

Bible Reading Thoughts 1-12-12
Genesis 29, 30 and Matthew 9
Jesus hung out with ordinary people. He did not hang out with the “holy” people; he hung out with the “hurting” people. He knew people were going to judge him by the people he hung out with. He also knew that people can change. It was the people that had been knocked down and kicked around that had he most to gain by seeing that Jesus loved them enough to go to them and not wait for them to come to him. He…

Bible Reading Thoughts 1-11-12
Genesis 27 and 28, Matthew 8
Oh Esau, Esau, Esau. You just don’t get it. Yes, Jacob stole the blessing from you but you willingly gave away your birthright. Yes, you were mad at Jacob but you cannot undo your past decisions or blame someone else for what you did. And to make matters worse you saw that marrying a local girl would not please your father so that is exactly what you did. Make the people who care about you the most, angry.…

Bible Reading Thoughts
1-10-12
Genesis 25 and 26
I want it RIGHT NOW!!! We get caught up in the world of instant gratification. We want coffee, it can be ready in less than a minute. We want news, the internet is right there. We want an entire meal, pop it into the microwave and you are ready in mere minutes. No one wants to wait and savor the time and receive the reward that comes from waiting.
The “I want it RIGHT NOW” mindset is not a new thing. Esau was…

Genesis 23, 24 Matthew 7
Ask and it will be given. In Genesis 24 we read that Abraham has sent his servant to find Isaac a wife. The servant had been around Abraham and was a trusted servant. When the servant arrived at his destination, the land of Nahor, he took the time to stop and pray. He had seen the way that God had blessed Abraham as he was faithful to God. The servant went to God and gave Him all of his concerns and doubts. The servant asked for clear vision as to whom he…

Genesis 20, 21, 22
As I reflect upon today’s reading, I am struck by the level of faith that Hagar had versus that of Abraham’s. Hagar had received a promise from God that He would” greatly multiply her offspring”, Ishmael (Chapter 16). She had been directly addressed by the Angel of the Lord and received direct, unequivocal, without a doubt communication from God. Even with this promise she failed to fully trust. Abraham was told that his offspring would be numerous, too…

Genesis 18, 19 and Matthew 6
Today was a really interesting read. What jumped out at me was how the Old Testament and New Testament reading came together and strengthened each other. It was the end of both passages that I saw a connection, the link of the past and worry.
We see where Lot and his family are escaping the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. They were instructed to not look back. Why? In looking back you see all the mistakes, blunders, bad decisions, hurts and…
